Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II (Supervisor), the Associate Administrator I, Specialist is the primary contact for federal disaster reimbursement claims. Responsible for interpreting federal regulations associated with Federal Grants. A full understanding of these program s is necessary to effectively prepare reimbursement claims to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on a quarterly basis. Responsible for meeting regulatory and internal deadlines on all assignments.
The incumbent will perform a wide variety of consultative, advisory, research and evaluative duties in the areas of the federal reimbursement claims process, federal regulations, and legislation pertaining to Cal OES’s Federal grant programs.
Must have extensive knowledge of the state’s uniform accounting system Financial Information System of California (FI$Cal), state and related federal laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Must have a strong fiscal education and background; exercise good writing skills; follow oral and written directions be responsive to the needs of the public and employees of CalOES and other agencies; analyze situations and take effective action using initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgment. Must work with limited supervision.
