Location: Beloit, Wisconsin (Ironworks Campus) / Hybrid

Starting Pay Range: $115k-$160k

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic IT leader to ensure our technology infrastructure is robust, secure, and drives our business forward.

Job Summary: The IT Director will be a critical strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of Warranty Processing's technology infrastructure and operations. This role demands a visionary who can directly impact our bottom line by significantly enhancing infrastructure efficiency, driving financial productivity through strategic technology adoption, and fortifying our overall cybersecurity posture. This includes assessing and modernizing our current remote access and desktop environment for our about a hundred-person company team , and leading the charge in transforming our core processes through the evaluation and replacement of legacy systems. The IT Director will lead and mentor our existing IT department , align technology initiatives with business objectives, and ensure a secure, reliable, and cost-effective IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect WPI's data, systems, and network from evolving threats.
  • Lead initiatives for vulnerability management, threat detection, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, data privacy laws, and best practices.
  • Foster a security-first culture across the organization through effective training and awareness programs.

2. Infrastructure Efficiency & Reliability:

  • Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including network, servers, cloud services, and end-user computing.
  • Assess and modernize the current remote desktop infrastructure, transitioning to more efficient and secure remote access solutions for our about a hundred-person company team across 15 states.
  • Identify and implement solutions to optimize system performance, improve reliability, and streamline IT operations.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies that enhance operational speed, stability, and scalability.
  • Manage IT service delivery, ensuring high levels of uptime and responsiveness for internal and external users.

3. Financial Productivity & Strategic Impact:

  • Partner closely with the CFO and other executive leaders to identify, evaluate, and deploy technological solutions that directly contribute to financial productivity gains and cost reductions.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, optimizing expenditures across hardware, software, cloud services, and vendor contracts to maximize ROI.
  • Drive initiatives to automate key business processes (e.g., AP/AR, billing, claims processing, HR operations) to improve efficiency, reduce manual overhead, and enhance data accuracy.
  • Lead the assessment, selection, and implementation of new enterprise systems, including the replacement of existing legacy systems, to modernize core business operations and improve overall process efficiency.
  • Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT efficiency and the measurable financial impact of IT projects.

4. Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the existing IT department , fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Oversee IT vendor relationships, ensuring effective partnerships and favorable terms.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and strategies effectively to non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop and execute an IT roadmap that aligns with WPI's overall strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 2+ years in a Director-level or equivalent position.
  • Demonstrated success in improving IT operational efficiency, achieving measurable financial productivity gains, and strengthening organizational cybersecurity postures.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale system implementations and/or legacy system replacements, including vendor selection, data migration, and change management.
  • Strong understanding of modern IT infrastructure (cloud, on-premise, networking, data management), including experience with remote access solutions, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), or desktop-as-a-service (DaaS).
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), risk management, and incident response.
  • Proven financial acumen with experience managing complex IT budgets, optimizing spend, and demonstrating ROI.
  • Experience with business process automation and leveraging technology to drive operational improvements.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical strategies to executive leadership and non-technical staff.
