**Description** SAIC is seeking a motivated, creative, and ambitious **UAS** **Operating System Engineer** to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center - Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Tech Center at **Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.** The candidate will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team developing advanced computer systems architectures and solutions for the U.S. Army and Air Force Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)/Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Ground Control Stations. **JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Contribute to system hardware and software architecture decisions based on customer performance, schedule, and cost requirements + Automate the creation and configuration of Operating Systems, Virtual Machines, and microservices + Design software architecture and integrated systems for mission-critical systems including flight systems, sensors, and ground control stations + Conduct hardware and software design, review, and build cycles for prototype development, and execute testing plans at customer sites + Configure virtual and physical switches and troubleshoot network issues on virtual/physical switches and firewalls + Use scripting languages to develop automated network installation and configuration using Bash, PowerShell, and Python + Develop engineering technical material including but not limited to: System Description Documents, System requirements, Data Flow Documents, and Network Diagrams **Qualifications** **REQUIRED EDUCATION:** + Bachelors degree in an Engineering Discipline and two (2) years or more of related experience **REQUIRED SKILLS:** + **Experience developing systems using various Operating System types such as Linux, Windows, mobile O/S (Android), and Embedded Systems** + Experience configuring software and hardware system components for interoperability + Experience with operating system virtualization utilizing Type I and II hypervisors (vSphere, KVM, VMWare Workstation) + Experience with containerization (i.e. Docker and/or Podman) + Experience managing and maintaining networking components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and networks + Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell **REQUIRED CLEARANCE:** + Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance; Interim Clearance to start; U.S. Citizenship required REQNUMBER: 2505434 SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
